Hello, I need to get this fixed asap in order to get some files I need urgently, help tonight would be greatly appreciated.
Here is the situation:
I have windows 7 (64 bit) and Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) installed on my laptop. Upon installing windows 7, the ubuntu boot menu disappeared, and I tried to fix this using a variety of software. Long story short, I'm not sure what I've done, but the computer wont boot any longer.
Here is what the output looks like:

* 1) I cannot type at all. Nothing I can do on the keyboard changes this screen.

I tried using my ubuntu live boot USB go fix this problem; I downloaded ubuntu from the main website, and used UNbootin to boot the ISO. It works on other computers.

When I tried entering a blank usb in order to get into the grub rescue options, whenever I try to ls one of the partitions on my drive, I get this message : error, unknown filesystem.
Please help, I need to get this sorted asap.

It's fairly easy to use. Simply select your windows partition, click edit, and shrink it by about 8Gb. Make sure you leave the empty space to the right of the partition (yes it is important). Then click apply. Step 2 - Installing the system. Reboot into Windows.
***tested on Win10 x64
1. Edit BOOTMGR 'BCD' file using BOOTICEx86.exe (in the attached zip file)
to chainload 'grldr.mbr' (in the attached zip file) (see picture attached)
2. Create / Edit GRLDR 'menu.lst' (in the attached zip file):

but it must contains the extracted (extracted to FAT32 partition) android x86 file system
from the android x86 ISO/IMG file and of course the android 'data.img' file (ext4 formatted)
How To Fix Grldr
to save android x86 changes and user data.3. put 'GRLDR.MBR', 'GRLDR', 'MENU.LST' in your root boot partition (which contains the BOOTMGR file)
note: i resized my boot partition, from default FAT32 100MB 'Windows Reserved Partition' to FAT32 8GB.
i also put the 'data.img' and extracted the android x86 file system from the android x86 ISO/IMG file to this partition.
4. reboot the computer. enjoy.
