Hi There,
Forms & workflow management Simplify processes and streamline your workflows Microsoft 365 helps make capturing, tracking, and acting on data. Set up and configure Workflow Manager with SharePoint. The certificate for the workflow server expired so I reenroll it. The thumbprint changed when I enrolled it. It does have a new date with the same name. I used a local CA when I.
Microsoft don't want our lives easy with simple configurations. :P
I found error 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: Unable to properly communicate with the workflow service.' in my ULS logs and tried to fix it. However, i noticed few Exceptions on top of this unexpected error which was the main cause of this error.
Main Unexpected Error in ULS:
I looked a bit top of it and found the Exception

Thanks to Mai Omar for writing this post that helped me to fix this issue.
Actually there is a scope name 'SharePoint' which we need to register the Workflow by.
Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite 'http://mywebapplicationname/' -WorkflowHostUri 'https://myservernamewhichhostWorkflow:12290' -Force -ScopeName 'SharePoint'
Or (Depends on which binding you use, http or https)
Microsoft.workflow.client.authenticationexception Authentication Failed
Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite 'http://mywebapplicationname/' -WorkflowHostUri 'http://myservernamewhichhostWorkflow:12294' -Force -ScopeName 'SharePoint'
