Important info if you brought a servo follow focus for the Zhiyun crane 2 There isn’t useful information on this even from zhiyun themselves. They tell you to update the firmware from the usb on the servo which is incorrect. You have to use the cable from your battery charger and connect to the stick (the usb on the stick next to the controls).
Method 1: update Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal firmware by PC
Step 1: Search Zhiyun official website, and click 'Download'
Step 2: Select 'Firmware', and enter the firmware download interface.
Step 3: Choose the Zhiyun Smooth 4. If you can’t find it, you can click 'more' and search the model firmware you want.
Step 4: After select the gimbal model, enter the file download interface. And download two files “Calibration Upgrade Tool” and “Firmware”.
Step 5: Connect the the USB port on the stabilizer and the computer with USB Type-C cable.
Step 6: Install USB driver.
Step 7: Turn on the stabilizer and long pres joystick to enter stand by mode.
Step 8: Open the 'Zhiyun Gimbal Tools', then the calibration upgrade tool will recognize Smooth 4 and click 'Open Serial Port'.
Step 9: Click the top menu> firmware update.
Step 10: Select the package that has just unzipped-firmware, and start Smooth 4.
Method 2: update Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal firmware by ZY Play APP
Step 1: Download and install ZY Play APP on you mobile phone.
Step 2: Connect Zhiyun Smooth 4 to your phone.
Step 3: Open ZY Play APP, and enter 'APP Operations'.
Step 4: Follow the steps of 'APP Operations'
ZY Play will prompt user to update the firmware when the new one released
Before updating the firmware, please make sure the power level of both stabilizer and phone remain 50%. Do not turn off the stabilizer during process or exist from ZY Play. Meanwhile, keep an eye on the prompts of ZY Play.

ZHIYUN has released new firmware update (V.1.76) for CRANE 2. This new firmware update significantly extends the movement rangeof three axes to enrich your camera movement. The camera compatibility isupgraded to include more Nikon cameras.

How to update the firmware
1. Download calibration upgrade tooland firmware
Zhiyun Follow Focus Firmware
Enter www.zhiyun-tech.com,Enter CRANE 2 product page and click [download]. Download ZHIYUN USB Driver,Callibration Upgrade Tool and Firmware.
2. Download driver
Unzip ZHIYUN USB Driver file and download[ZYCDC_Setup.exe].
3. Open calibration upgrade tool
Unzip calibration upgrade tool file and open [Zhiyun GimbalTools v1.3.4. exe].
4. Update firmware
Unzip firmware file and connect CRANE 2 to the PC. Open thecalibration upgrade tool and click [Open] > [Firmware Upgrade] >[Browse]. Choose [firmware.ptz].
5. Click [Upgrade] and wait forthe update.
